As consultants to the project architect, we orchestrated the MEP systems for three brand-new 6000 sqft laundromats strategically positioned in retail tenant spaces throughout San Antonio. Our HVAC designs embraced a combination of multiple packaged rooftop units and DX split systems featuring electric heating, all seamlessly integrated with exposed spiral round ductwork. The HVAC controls boasted programmable wall thermostats complemented by remote sensors strategically placed within HVAC zones. Furthermore, we meticulously devised combustion air and dryer venting systems to optimize functionality in the dryer service areas.
On the plumbing front, our scope encompassed designing restrooms equipped with ADA-compliant fixtures and the installation of an average of 30 commercial-grade washers and gas dryers at each location. To ensure operational efficiency, we deployed high-efficiency, gas-fired, tank-type water heaters catering to the needs of washers, lavatories, and sinks.
Electrical enhancements involved the comprehensive installation of energy-efficient LED lighting fixtures throughout the space. Adhering to code requirements, our designs incorporated occupancy, daylighting, and time controls. To meet the modern demands of connectivity, we integrated data and cable TV outlets, facilitating seamless installation by local internet and cable TV vendors.
