These facilities include barracks, classroom, training, maintenance and storage areas on military bases, as well as libraries, court houses, city halls, annex buildings, county barns, airports and water treatment facilties. These buildings can utilize a wide range of HVAC systems, including packaged rooftop units, split systems, chilled and hot water systems, and central air handler systems with zone controls.
Lighting is generally all LED, lay-in type in office and meeting areas, high bay type in training and maintenance areas. Exterior wall packs and area pole lighting are used for security. Provisions are made for security access doors and cameras, along with data receptacles in offices, courtrooms and classroom areas. Water treatment facilities are provided with SCADA control systems and variable speed drives to automate process operations and reduce energy consumption.
Public restrooms are provided, with storage water heater and circulation pump. Larger facilities will utilize a boiler for both
space heating and domestic water production. Gas piping system is generally provided to serve maintenance and storage area heating systems. Compressed air systems are provided for maintenance facilities, along with vehicle exhaust systems.
